Late Summer 2024 Handbuilding Basics (July-Aug)

Introduction to the fundamentals of forming clay by hand. In this course you will be rolling out slabs of clay and using these to construct 3D shapes, some simple and some more complex. You will also learn pinching and coiling techniques and surface decorating techniques such as carving, stamping, graffito and sprigs.
Projects vary according to the specific technique being demonstrated in class. Sample projects may include mugs, bowls, wall hangings, planters, teapots, vases, boxes or others!
Come challenge your imagination!
Please note that all materials and tools will be provided.
We do not provide aprons so please bring one or dress in clothes you don't mind getting dirty. You may also want to bring a towel for your hands.
The class duration is 2.5 hour, clean up is included in this time.
This class is intended for all levels. It is open to all adults and teenagers from ages 15 and up.
